WE ONLY SHIP 100% PURE ORCHIATA BARK, WE DO NOT, AND NEVER WILL BLEND THIS EXCEPTIONAL BARK WITH INFERIOR BARK. THIS HAS BEEN A SERIOUS ISSUE IN THE PAST AND WE STRONGLY URGE EVERYONE TO DO THEIR DUE DILIGENCE. THIS BARK IS IMPORTED FROM NEW ZEALAND AS IT IS SUPERIOR IN EVERY WAY TO ALL OTHER BARK. IT HAS NEVER BEEN CHEAP, BUT ITS QUALITY AND LONGEVITY COMPARED TO OTHER BARKS MAKE IT WELL WORTH THE COST

Isn't all pine bark the same?
I wish I could say yes, but the answer is a resounding no. Pinus radiata grown in New Zealand produces a much thicker, harder and structurally sound material ideal for potting and repotting that breaks down much slower than pine bark grown in other localities. Orchiata bark is also allowed to age naturally which results in an even stronger nugget that decomposes much slower. Blending Orchiata with any other bark is not advisable due to the significantly different decomposition rates which will result in detrimental imbalances to your growing mix over time.

Orchiata is also the only bark on the market that we know of, which is coated with Dolomite, an all natural mineral that contains calcium and magnesium.

Advantages of using Dolomite:
#1 - Stabilize the substrate by increasing the pH to within a range of 5.5 to 6.5 which is ideal for plants
#2 - Prevents salt accumulation
#3 - Provide the minerals calcium and magnesium, which provides a much needed boost to plants recently repotted.

All Orchiata bark is also sustainably harvested.

We have been using Orchiata in our private collection for decades, the stuff is just pure magic!
