One of the staple mixes, can be used as is or as a base for other ingredients you might need to add to best suit your growing conditions. As with all soilless mixes, this mix has nearly no nutritional value and for best results, it must be used in conjunction with a regular feeding program. Please remember pine bark absorbs Nitrogen so for best results select a fertilizer that is high in Nitrogen so it does not deprave your plants from this essential nutrient.
The grade we use for our seedlings is equivalent to Orchiata "Precision grade" (1/8"-1/4" 3-6mm). We personally do not use this grade beyond a 4" pot but some growers do with great success.
Using only the best quality ingredients from New Zealand, this mix consists of:
Orchiata Pine Bark - Hands down the best and longest lasting pine bark on the market which is pH balanced for optimum results using natural dolomite by the manufacturer
Hardwood Charcoal - graded to be compatible with Orchiata Precision grade
Perlite - graded to be compatible with Orchiata Precision grade.
