Chunky Aroid Potting Mix - Extra Airy, Fast Draining & Long Lasting (Mix #8)

| /

CHUNKY AROID POTTING MIX #8: BUILT FOR THE LONG HAUL

Mix #8 was developed for growers who want to grow large specimen Aroids without constantly disturbing them for repotting.

Its coarse, chunky structure allows excess water to drain quickly while maintaining tremendous air space around the roots. At the same time, moisture is retained throughout the substrate, giving roots access to water without relying on a dense, fine-textured mix.
Most importantly, #8 was designed to remain open and structurally stable for as long as possible, slowing the gradual collapse that occurs as organic components age.

🌿 THE STORY BEHIND #8
We hadn't even finished mixing the first test batch when we knew there was something special about #8.

Then we tested it on a group of flowering Anthuriums and the results were glorious!

#8 was created for a problem that becomes increasingly important as Aroids get larger: repotting big specimen plants is a pain.

Traditional organic components gradually break down. As particles become smaller, the physical structure of the substrate changes and can become less open around the roots.
#8 was designed to slow that process dramatically, maintaining a coarse, highly aerated root environment for longer.

The goal isn't simply to grow an Aroid. It's to give that Aroid the opportunity to become a specimen.

💧 FAST DRAINING DOESN'T MEAN FAST DRYING

This distinction is important with #8.

Excess water drains quickly, but the mix still retains useful moisture within its chunky structure.

Water thoroughly, then allow the mix to partially dry before watering again. Avoid dramatically oversized containers, particularly when the root system is still small.

🌿 WHAT CAN I GROW IN IT?
#8 is particularly well suited to larger and established Aroids, including Anthurium, Philodendron, Monstera, Rhaphidophora, Alocasia, mature Syngonium, Scindapsus and Epipremnum.

It can also work well for larger tropical foliage plants with similar root requirements, including Spathiphyllum, Ficus, Schefflera, Cordyline, Dracaena and many indoor palms.
For seedlings, true epiphytes or plants requiring substantially different root conditions, another Tezula formula may be a better choice.

🌱 FEEDING
#8 contains some built-in nutrition, but it is not intended to replace a regular feeding program. Feed according to the needs of your plant, growing environment and normal cultivation practices.

📦 BOOSTER PACK
This mix works exceptionally well with our completely natural Booster Pack (Myco+ Essentials). It is NOT a fertilizer. Instead, it helps bring the mix to life, supporting your plant as it establishes and helping create a better environment for the fertilizer you apply.
Adding the Booster Pack gives your plants an extra helping hand, especially during establishment, but it is absolutely not necessary for success. This mix is designed to perform exceptionally well on its own.

🛠️ MADE TO ORDER
Every bag is prepared by hand to order rather than mass-produced and stored as finished substrate.

USE & RESPONSIBILITY
Plant performance depends on environment and cultural practices. We are not responsible for outcomes resulting from improper lighting, watering, feeding, pest pressure, or mismatched plant selection.

These mixes are tools. Results vary based on how they are used.
